Account and Data Deletion
We respect your right to control your personal information. If you would like to delete your TravWiz account and associated personal data, you can do so by following the instructions below.
What Data Will Be Deleted
When you request account deletion, we will remove:
- Account Information: Your login credentials and profile information
- Vacation Plans: All saved and customized vacation plans in your account
- Search History: Your search queries and preferences
- Support Requests: Previous customer support interactions
- Survey Responses: Any feedback or survey responses you've provided
- Usage Data: Personal usage analytics and activity logs
What Data We Retain
Some information may be retained for legitimate business purposes or legal requirements:
- Anonymized Analytics: Usage patterns that cannot be linked back to you
- Legal Compliance: Records required by law (financial transactions, etc.)
- Security Logs: Security-related logs for fraud prevention (anonymized after 90 days)
How to Request Data Deletion
Method 1: Email Request (Recommended)
Send an email to: support@travwiz.ai
Subject: Account Deletion Request
Include: Information to help us identify your account (such as the email you used to sign up, or mention which service you used to sign in: Google, Apple, Facebook, or Discord)
Method 2: Third-Party Authentication
If you signed up using Google, Apple, Facebook, or Discord, you can also manage data deletion through those platforms' respective privacy settings. However, we recommend using Method 1 above for complete deletion from TravWiz.
Deletion Process and Timeline
- Request Received: We'll acknowledge your deletion request within 2 business days
- Identity Verification: We may ask you to verify your identity for security purposes
- Processing: Complete deletion typically takes 7-30 days
- Confirmation: You'll receive confirmation when deletion is complete
Important Notes:
- Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone
- You will lose access to all saved vacation plans and preferences
- If you have an active subscription, it will be cancelled
- Some data may take up to 30 days to be completely removed from backup systems
Alternative: Account Deactivation
If you're not ready for permanent deletion, you can temporarily deactivate your account by contacting us at support@travwiz.ai. Deactivated accounts:
- Cannot be accessed or used
- Preserve your data for future reactivation
- Can be permanently deleted later if desired
- Are automatically deleted after 5 years of inactivity
Data Export (Before Deletion)
Before requesting deletion, you can request a copy of your personal data. Contact us at support@travwiz.ai with the subject "Data Export Request" and we'll provide your data in a portable format within 30 days.
Your Rights Under GDPR
If you're located in the European Union, you have additional rights under GDPR:
- Right to Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data
- Right to Data Portability: Receive your data in a machine-readable format
- Right to Object: Object to certain types of data processing
- Right to Restriction: Request limitation of data processing
